Coordinating partnerships for the prevention and postvention of suicide

Self-inflicted violence includes self-harm without suicidal intent, attempted suicide, and completed suicide. It is a global public health problem that requires collective action for its prevention. Suicide stands out among these forms of violence due to its effects on survivors bereaved by suicide who are emotionally connected to the deceased. Aiming at suicide prevention and postvention, this article reports the experience of establishing partnerships to support a family bereaved by suicide. Coordination among professionals, institutions, and the Brazilian Unified Health System, in Goiás, using digital information and communication technologies, was essential to the success of the interventions.
