The Place of Love and Forgiveness in Conjugal and Family Relationships

The Family is one of the best and greatest human laboratory experience, where conflicts exist and where family members are taken to several experiences that require flexibility, openness to dialogue and mutual comprehension. In this context, love and forgiveness become crucial tools so that people involved can live with respect and harmony, and learn with their daily experiences. Using some concepts form the Positive Psychology, this article describes how it can relate to marital and family therapy, and explains how forgiveness can be freeing to the person who offers it, taking the family from a closed place to another where there is openness to love.
