The article aims to analyze the national scientific literature on violence against children and adolescents, in order to investigate who are the main authors and how intrafamily violence is understood among the family members and professionals. Its method is a systematic literature review, being analyzed fifteen empirical articles, found in the databases of Scielo, Pepsic and Redalyc data. It is concluded that there is a difficulty in understanding intrafamily violence among family members and health professionals, because some practices are justified as a way of educating and punishing, and it was seen that the mother appears as the main author in the practice of some violence.
